This presentation will:

  • Describe the diversity within the HIV-1 patient population
  • Describe factors to consider in treatment-naive and treatment-experienced people living with HIV-1
  • Explore select efficacy and safety data for an ARV treatment option

Speaker: Shauna Applin

Shauna Applin is an Adult HIV Nurse Practitioner and Nurse Midwife at Community Health Care in Tacoma, WA. Ms. Applin attended The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, and received her Masters of Nursing in Infectious Disease and Nurse Midwifery at the University of Washington. She is a member of the HIV Planning Steering Group for the Washington state Department of Health and is a faculty member with the Northwest AIDS Education and Training Center. Applin is also a certified HIV specialist through the American Academy of HIV Medicine.
