How researchers can utilize the national database

Description

The All of Us Research Program, sponsored by the National Institutes of Health (NIH), includes a national database that will include health and lifestyle information on up to one million Americans. This webinar, provided in partnership with the American Academy of HIV Medicine (AAHIVM) and the All of Us Research Program, will focus on how this program's database can potentially be utilized by researchers, including nurse scientists, post-doctoral researchers, Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) students and others now and into the future. Content will include a description of the data collection and the process for external researchers to apply to access the aggregate data for their research. This data set is not HIV specific, but contains aggregate data on overall health and various conditions. Sheri Schully, PhD
Acting Chief Medical and Scientific Officer, All of Us Research Program
 
Dr. Schully has been at NIH for more than 15 years and has been a part of the All of Us Research Program since its inception. Dr. Schully’s research focuses on the translation of genomic technologies into clinical and public health practice.
 
By the end of this presentation, participants will be able to:
  • Describe the mission, objectives and scientific framework of the All of Us Research Program
  • Discuss approaches for external researchers to explore and access the data currently being collected within the program
  • Discuss All of Us efforts to address COVID-19
